Lunch Bag Sessions- Spring 2009
|
|
| |
The Purpose of These Sessions |
|
| |
These classes are designed to
provide instruction on the software and aspects of the
Data Warehouse. We realize that the world of the warehouse
is complicated and sometimes a little extra instruction is
helpful. These are not typical classes. You don’t have to
travel any farther than your nearest computer. Our classes
will be held on-line using a technology called Adobe
Presenter. This software has the ability to broadcast
presentations, live programs, audio, video and many other
things. We call them “Lunch Bag Sessions” because they
will be held during lunchtime, hopefully facilitating
better attendance due to more availability. Classes will
cover a range of topics from beginner to advanced. The
classes covering basic functions of the warehouse will be
offered on a regular basis, and special classes will be
offered as situations or demands call for it.
Requirements
There are some specific
requirements you must meet before you can attend these
classes.
Your computer must:
- Have the latest version of Adobe Flash
installed on your computer. The link to this is available
on our website at
http://dw.neric.org/Tutorials.htm
- A phone next to it to call into the class.
- Be able to move beyond any firewall that
is installed in your district network. There will be a
test meeting room that you will need to be able to enter
at this site:
http://breeze.neric.org/lunchtestsession/.
If you are having
difficulties accessing the test meeting room, please call
518-862-5413 for assistance. Please access this room
before you attempt to attend any classes.
You must:
-Be the CIO or Alternate CIO of your
district.
Classes start promptly at 12:00 and last 30 min. The
instructor will be in the room and on the call 15 minutes
prior to the start of class for any issues that might
arise.
Registration
To register for the classes, send
an email to Cathy Burbules at
cburbule@gw.neric.org with the class(es) you would
like to attend. You may register up to 30 minutes before
each class. Make sure that you have tested your
computer in the test meeting classroom before class. Class
